The Devil’s Swimming Pool: Swim On The Edge Of The Victoria Falls

In Zimbabwe, Africa, you will find the magnificent Victoria Falls at a height of 128m. The location is known as “The Devil’s Swimming Pool”. During the months of September and December, people can swim as close as possible to the edge of the falls without falling over! These falls are becoming well known amongst the “radical tourist” industry as more and more people search for the ultimate experience.

Looks like she’s about to take the 360-foot plunge, doesn’t it? Afraid it’s not true, as long as it’s not the wet season when the water is high enough for the current to actually sweep you off the edge. People can safely cavort in the “Devil’s Swimming Pool” without any problems. It’s so safe in fact, that these people took their kids:

Of all of the felines, the Margay is most adapted for a true arboreal life. It is the only cat to possess the ability to rotate its hind legs 180° , enabling it to run head first down trees like squirrels. It can also hang from a branch by one hind foot!

The Margay is on the endangered animals list, but no one really knows how large their population really is between Mexico and Argentina. Margays don’t take well to humans invading their habitats and sacientists say they are so well adapted to life in trees that they can go their entire lives without touching the ground.

A man goes on a two month business trip to Europe and leaves his cat, to whom he’s very attached, with his brother. Three days before his return he calls his brother.

Brother 1: So how is my cat doing?

Brother 2: She’s Dead

Brother 1: OMG she’s dead? What do you mean she’s dead! I loved that cat. Couldn’t you think of a nicer way to tell me! I’m leaving in 3 days. You could have broken it to me a little more gently. You could have told me today that she got out of the house or something. Then when I called before I left you could have told me, well, we found her but she got up on the roof and we’re having trouble getting her down. Then when I called you from the airport you could have told me the fire department was there with a net and scared her off the roof but she missed the net and unfortunately died instantly when she hit the ground.

Brother 2: I’m sorry…you’re right…that was insensitive I won’t let it happen again.

Brother 1: Alright, alright, forget about it. Anyway, how is Mom doing?

Brother 2: Well, Mom got up on the roof…
